Coach’s Corner Recap by Karl Peters:

Tonight’s match-up between the Salty Dogs (1-2) and Renegades (2-1) was one the Salty Dogs will never forget. With many of the regulars missing key call ups Brock Pierson, Alec Dumerton, and COACH Karl Peters came in to spark the offense. The game turned out to be the best full game the Salty Dogs have played so far, as all lines were meshing and all were doing their part in the trouncing of the Renegades 8-2.

Goal scorers were Brock Pierson with a Hat-trick, Alex and Steve with 2 goals each and Brent with a goal. With all the new players coming in and regular players in different positions, Jason and Brent playing as Defensemen, it was definitely a game to tell your grandkids about.

Dogs ice the Devils for First Win of the season

The Salty Dogs get their first win of the season against the Ice Devils Tuesday night. Tied 3 – 3 going into the 3rd period, Alex Bozma scores to give the dogs the lead. Then after a monster save by Goaltendeder Trevor Lowen, Jason Unruh puts the game away by scoring on the empty net, making it 5-3. After lossing 9-1 in their first game, this should be a big confidence booster as this team starts to find its legs.

Next game is Tonight at 10:00 pm vs the Coilers.
